Nice hotel, in a reasonably nice part of Athens. Receptionist was a bit frosty, but that's ok. Bar and restaurant staff very friendly. Great little rooftop area to sit and have a drink and some food too. The food portions were enormous lol. Rooms were nice and clean, but no usb sockets for charging phones etc. Would definitely stay here again though.

This is a very basic hotel, much in need of up-dating,neighborhood was not safe at all. The staff at NOVUS Hotel is lovely.The friendly lady at the front desk went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. All were friendly and helpful!!. Noisy rooms. For a four star I would have expected better than this - very noisy room,no light at all from outside as the window blinds were broken. They should renovate a bit then is fine. The breakfast was average,big variety but very poor quality. Rooftop bar has an amazing view of the Acropolis at night, worth it to gave a drink there.

We checked in at 12mn. There was no water in the room. The room was so basic. The windows had tatty internal blinds which you couldn't open. Next morning we intended to walk to Acropolis, but within a few yards there were druggies smoking crack by pipes and a homeless crowd. Impossible to walk safely in the area. Returned too the hotel for a taxi. We would not go there again!

We stayed for one night at the end of a tour and everything about the hotel was great or even better. All the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Clean and welcoming reception for our late arrival; a great meal in the rooftop restaurant with views of the Acropolis; a light, clean and spacious room and a lovely bathroom. Everything worked and all boxes were ticked. Breakfast was a more than adequate buffet with a good selection of Greek and international cuisine. As we were not being picked up for our flight until 18:05 we asked about a late checkout. This was no problem and the reception told us there was no extra charge if we checked out by 15:00 or just after. How nice and thoughtful. I had a swim in the rooftop pool after checking out and then an early dinner before going to the airport. Just one downside and not the fault of the hotel but of the state of modern society. We went out for a walk before checking out and several local streets were infested with drug addicts and homeless. No one troubled us in the daylight but I would not have fancied it after dark. If you do stay here and go out for a walk turn left as you exit reception and not right. It's auch more pleasant walk.

The room: seemed dreary, old-fashioned and bleak on arrival, but it grew on us. It was serviceable, having all we needed (bedside tables, lights, fridge, water, safe). You couldn't get near the window, which was a shame, but it did make a nice night-light as it had adjustable blinds as well as blackout curtains. Traffic noise was a little bothersome on the first floor. Breakfast: rather odd, but maybe normal for Greece? Far too much sweet stuff and too little savoury. But there was enough to eat and drink. Bar/Restaurant: Inside area horribly canteen style with no atmosphere. The barman didn't seem to know much about anything. Outside area beautiful with a charming little pool. But it needed lighting! Without our phones we would have been unable to order! And the steps were dangerously dark with no handholds. The view, however, was breathtaking. The service was appalling. We ordered meatballs to start, followed by gyros and grilled veg. These were labelled as starters and mains -- not mezze -- but they all came at once. We sent the mains away but they came back cold and tired rather than cared-for. The waitress didn't seem to have an idea, and messed up everything we asked for then disappeared entirely. It really spoiled the evening. Reception: Friendly and helpful. Always someone there.
